Bryan Materials Group About Us

Our history dates back to 1883 when Frank Bryan Sr. began with one horse and one wagon. We provided supplies to various businesses operating in the McKees Rocks area. As the region grew and mechanized, new equipment replaced the horse and wagon.

In the early 1980’s, our company moved to our current location into downtown Pittsburgh, PA. This plant and location provided the basis for our growth in the ready mixed concrete industry by supplying many noteworthy projects over the years.

The fourth generation came on board in the 80’s and 90’s, taking on new projects and more technically challenging specifications that were being considered. In 1996, we entered the construction aggregates business when we acquired a river dredging operation, land based aggregate operation and large river terminal, as well as a fleet of barges.

In recent years, we opened a rail terminal in Glenwood, acquired Beaver Concrete in Rochester and Rock Concrete in Monaca, thus expanding our concrete and aggregate market.

Our marine division acquired several towboats which has allowed us to deliver our own material to various river terminals in the region.
